Inform is a natural language based system to author works of interactive fiction. If you’re an author stuck inside a programmers body, this is the perfect tool to marry both these parts of you.
Interactive fiction used to be a somewhat large segment of the game industry till more graphically engaging games pushed them aside. They have experienced a resurgence of sorts with the popularity of mobile computing devices and there’s a niche but very passionate community of interactive fiction players and developers.
There are several systems designed to author interactive fiction. The Inform system is one such language. It allows people to create a game but by writing in mostly a natural language.
This session will introduce interactive fiction to the audience and then will introduce the whole authoring system to create a small game.

I’ve been an intearctive fiction enthusiast since childhood. The original infocom games have been my favourites even through the years of FPS games. I’ve been working on a game of my own on and off for a while now.
